Weing Weing, Korea University’s (KU) autumn festival hosted by KU Club Association takes place from September 14 to 16. What is special about this festival is that it is the KU students—instead of celebrities of corporations—that are in the center of the spotlight. Weing Weing seeks to release the hidden talents KU students had within them through hosting special on-stage performances, and relieve the stress students get by creating active events that anyone can participate in.

Another unique aspect that differentiates Weing Weing from any other festival is that it includes every minorities and socially-weak of KU, such as part-time instructors, the disabled, and cleaners. Thus, “Donation Bang Bang Bang,” consists of three events as follows: Give Back, Weing Donation Vending Machine, Jumping Coin. “This is an innovative change—Weing Weing is truly a festival for everyone,” said Ok Seung Min (’15, English Language and Literature) after participating in Give Back.

Apart from donation booths, exhibitions with the works of KU students are on show, along with diverse club booths advertising recruitments, selling goods, and holding special events. All three nights, there will be night performances at the stage at People’s Square. The show is welcoming anyone who is yearning for a romantic and sentimental night with Movies Nights, Singing Competitions prepared. Those who wish to deviate from tough daily routines should go visit Weing Weing, a festival that “we” make.
