✔다른 대학, 학과 친구들을 사귀고 싶다면?
전국 대학생 영어토론 총연합 (Korea Intervarsity Debate Association) 소속의 타 대학 학생들과 함께 국내외 대회 참가 및 KIDA MT, KUDC MT, 대회 뒤풀이 등을 통한 친목 도모!
✔여행을 좋아한다면?
국제 대회에 참여하면 이국적인 도시에서의 관광과 추억 쌓기는 덤! 저희는 지금까지 다양한 나라에서 대회에 참여 및 운영을 했고, 올 해에도 여러 국제 대회에 참여할 예정입니다 🙂
✔영어 말하기와 발표를 연습하고 싶다면?
7분의 영어 연설 연습, 그에 대한 선배들의 세심한 피드백은 오직 KUDC에만 있는 기회! 다양한 주제로 찬반 토론을 하다 보면 영어 발표 연습은 자연스럽게 완성됩니다!
토론 경험이 없어도, 영어가 능숙하지 않아도 괜찮습니다. 비판적으로 사고하는 능력을 친구들과 함께 열심히 연습할 준비만 되어있다면 나이와 학번 상관 없이 고려대학교 학생 누구나 지원할 수 있습니다 🙂


🙌 How we operate sessions
< 정기 세션: 매주 화, 목 7~10 PM >
- 화요일: 토론 규칙이나 주제들에 익숙하지 않은 학우 분들을 위한 강의를 진행 후 토론
- 목요일: 토론과 피드백 세션,그리고 KUDC만의 뒤풀이🍻

🙌 What we do
✔Do you want to make friends from other universities and departments?
KUDC is affiliated to the Korea Intervarsity Debate Association (KIDA)! We have participated in various debate championships around the world together with other members of the association, such as Seoul National University, Yonsei University, and Ewha Woman’s University. Not only do we debate, but we also socialize through KIDA MT, KUDC MT, and tournament socials.

✔Do you like to travel?
KUDC members get to travel to various countries participating in debate championships! So far we have debated and/or run tournaments in the Netherlands, Mexico, Malaysia, and so on. KUDC is the only club you’d be able to participate in a championship and travel to exotic places at the same time.

✔Do you want to practice English public speaking and presentation?
KUDC is the only place you can practice 7minutes of English speech and receive constructive feedback from our seniors. You will naturally be able to practice English presentations and public speaking by attending debate sessions and participating in tournaments. After a few months, you would speak English even more fluently in front of the public.
It’s fine even if you are not fluent in English nor have debated before. If you are ready to actively practice critical thinking with your friends, regardless of the grade or age, any students can apply 🙂

🙌 How we operate sessions
During semesters, we have two mandatory sessions on Tuesday and Thursday! We do parliamentary debates (Affirmative VS Opposition) on diverse themes such as international relations, philosophy, and economics on these sessions. On Tuesdays, we have a lecture for members who are new to parliamentary debate rules and topics, followed by one debate round. On Thursdays, we have one round of debate with extensive feedback from seniors, followed by “KUDC exclusive” socials!
