Scope Of Work
This role is expected to perform the following day-to-day web operation tasks across all countries
in Asia Pacific
1. Create and distribute eDMs and eNewsletters to a selected target audience (using
Eloqua)
2. Create and maintain a set of Campaign and Event Landing Pages (using Eloqua)
3. Create and maintain online registration forms (using Eloqua)
4. Weekly reporting of metrics related to Email Marketing, Online Registration, etc
5. Update selected content on vmware.com on VMware designated Content
Management Systems
Skill Requirements
1. Very strong in HTML, DHTML and CSS
o Software : Macromedia Dreamweaver
o Web Production and Maintenance
o Ability to troubleshoot erroneous HTML coding
2. Ability to compose simple javascripts.
o Examples :
o Field validation scripts such as “No alphabets allowed in Singapore postal
code field”
o Conditional statements such as if country=Australia then display relevant
states
o Sniff and capture the browser type/version, etc
3. Basic understanding of managing double-byte characters.
o Understand how characters are rendered on browsers and troubleshoot if necessary
o Convert UTF8 encoding to a Chinese, Japanese and Korean encoding and vice
versa
4. Basic Image Processing
o Software Skill : Adobe Photoshop
o The resource does not need to be a creative designer but should at least be able to
resize an image, touch up existing images, add text onto a photo, touch up existing
image/button/etc
5. Basic Flash Editing
o Software Skill : Macromedia Flash/Director/Shockwave.
o The resource does not need to be a Flash designer and animation programmer but at
least should be able to perform basic flash editing e.g.. edit a link, change
background colour, etc
6. Strong understanding of relational databases
o Software Skill : Microsoft Access
o Execute basic SQL criteria (e.g. AND/OR operations)
Preferred Skills
o Prior experience with industry recognized web platforms
o Email Marketing engines
o Email marketing/privacy best practices
o Web Content Management Systems
o Web Analytics Systems
o PHP Programming
o Ability to read, speak and write Korean (apart from English)
