<Apply for KESS>

- Kangnam English Sunday Study -

Those of you who love to talk in English or are looking for English speaking friends, KESS is currently looking for new official members. If you love to meet new people, share good laughs, and are interested in sharpening your English speaking ability, KESS is the right club for YOU!

What is KESS?

KESS (Kangnam English Sunday Study) is a small communication-oriented club founded in 2003 with just five members. Now it has more than 30 official members with four strong programs and dedicated staff working to make KESS an enjoyable and fun club for all members. The three basic principles that we incorporate in our meetings are to be enjoyable, educational, and most importantly, fun.

When and Where?

KESS holds its official meeting every Sunday from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Our study place is very near Kangnam station (Exit No.6).

* Specific location will be given upon acceptance.

What does KESS do?

1) Entertainment Week

We enjoy different kinds of board games and English speaking games such as Taboo, Monopoly, and bowl of nouns with attending members.

2) Buddy & Vocab Week

For this program, each member brings a few interesting words and expressions and shares them with other attending members. Also, we will divide into small groups and each group will lead a free discussion.

3) Debate Week

Members will be divided into two groups of pros and cons to debate on a topic given by the Study Topic Provider (or STP in KESS jargon). We follow strict three step debate of opening, questioning, and rebuttal.

4) Presentation & Speech Week

A member will give a short presentation on any given topic in front of the attending members. Those members who did not prepare any presentation will give a short impromptu speech.

How can I join?

Step 1: Request an application form to our official recruiter, Tony. (bkjung@hotmail.com) or download the attached application form and send it to the aforementioned e-mail address.

bkjung@hotmail.com <--- ASK FOR YOUR APPLICATION FORM & SEND IT

Step 2: After your application form has been examined, you will receive a notice to do a follow-up phone interview with one of our members.

Step 3: KESS Regulations and Rules packet will be given and you will be asked to fill in more private information.

Step 4: You will make an official debut at our meeting and be welcomed into our club.

We regretfully announce that we only accept people who have adequate communicative skill as well as understanding of English language to join our club. Thank you.

¡Ú   We love to talk over a cup of coffee and have a little get-togethers now and then to explore various spheres of interests ^^ ¡Ú
