[NEWS] KU Opens a New Course for Students

The Asiatic Research Institute Korea University (ARI) has opened a new course—Understanding South Asian History through Polish History—for Korea University (KU) students. The course focuses on the processes of historical events based on the relationship between Poland and its neighboring countries. The course will be held for four times starting from April 8, on every Friday at 4:00 P.M. Classes will be held at the main conference room located at the third floor of ARI building.

The topics of the four lectures given will be ¡°Is Poland a victim or attacker,¡± ¡°Evaluating the possibility of reconciliation between Korea and Japan through the process of Poland-Germany reconciliation,¡± ¡°The prospect, role, and significance of Catholic Churches in Polish history,¡± and ¡°Looking for historic sites of Poland and Germany¡± respectively. Professors from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS) and Sogang University (SU) will also take part in the lectures.

No registration or tuition is needed to take the course. The research institute commented that this lecture will be ¡°an opportunity to search for possibilities of South Asia¡¯s historic reconciliation and understand the global order of imperialism and its legacy during the 19th and 20th century with contemporary vision.¡± It expects students to earn novel and valuable insights in history.
