Korea University¡¯s (KU) Global Institute for Japanese Studies (GIJS) has been hosting special talks with Japanese entrepreneurs. For the fourth talk session, GIJS has decided to organize a special consecutive lecture series, featuring two Japanese men of enterprise. The two men are Akatsu Yoichi, the manager of All Nippon Airways (ANA) Seoul branch and Ueno Yasuaki, chief executive officer (CEO) of Fuji Xerox Korea.

Akatsu has previously given his lecture on the topic of ¡®Customer Oriented Management¡¯ on October 29 and Ueno has given his lecture today, November 5. Ueno gave a lecture on the topic ¡®Power of Communication¡¯ at 5:00 P.M. through 6:30 P.M. at Chungsan MK Culture Center. Yasuki was previously a director of OEM business at Fuji Xerox¡¯s Japan office. He was also selected as an ¡®Honorary Citizen of Seoul¡¯ in October.

At the lecture, Ueno talked about the beginning of Xerox, milestones in its history, its philosophy, and how it survived the changing global markets for over a century. ¡°Our company¡¯s philosophy is to help customer¡¯s communication. Every operation is based on consumer¡¯s viewpoint. That is why we have social activities. We have a special project called green management. We have a recycling percentage of 99.9 percent. What we produce, we reproduce 100 percent,¡± said Ueno at the lecture.
