Professor Sung-Jea Ko (Electrical Engineering) has been nominated as the Distinguished Lecturer of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), which is the world’s largest professional association for the advancement of technology. IEEE annually selects these lecturers, awarding their eminent research in the field. Professor Ko will thus be giving lectures not only in IEEE conferences, but also in worldwide research institutes and universities.

“In particular, I will be lecturing on the field of Computer Vision and Image Processing,” said Professor Ko. In fact, he already has 180 research papers included in the Science Citation Index (SCI) and already is a professional member of IEEE. He has indeed been actively working in his field, as he was the 43rd president of the Institute of Electronics and Information Engineers of Korea (IEIE), a prominent Korean institute in the Information Technology (IT) field.

IEEE sponsors more than 1,400 annual conferences and meetings worldwide. Therefore, Professor Ko will be able to present his competence and professionalism in his field of work in the global stage more evidently. It is expected that he will make further influence not only on the future of electrical engineering, but also on science technology as a whole.
