Strolling over Korea University (KU) campus, many students will encounter mint-colored posters all over the place. The notices are posted by Godaegonggamdae, the Student Union Body, for the purpose of improving the educational environment.

Under the slogan which implies, “The clock in KU has stopped as the improvement of educational environment also halted,” the Student Union Body is currently promoting the movement, demanding KU for 10 changes. Actually, the movement is not new. Last year’s Student Union Body also held the same movement though with different requirements.

Although not all,students achieved some gains which many of them were asking for. For instance,curfew hour was removed from dorms and the problematic server, which had been used for course registrations, went through some changes.

This year’s campaign started off at the Minju Plaza in March 17. There are 10 main points.For instance, the campaign holds a point about restraints on English-spoken lectures. According to the proposals within the movement, many students feel that it is unjust for the school to compel them to take a certain number of required courses.

The proposal is also asserting that students who received special admission into the university with English proficiency should be limited when taking English-spoken courses.Else than the suggestion about the English-spoken classes, there are offers regarding registration fees, spatial efficiency and non-regular employees.

The Student Union Body tried to interact with student, collecting their signatures on the process. The campaign seeking for change, led a demonstration march on March 27, and will end in March 29.
