On October 21, Korea University (KU) held the ¡°2022 Smart City Workshop,¡± led by several experts in the field of Information Security and Smart City Security. The stated goal of the workshop was to develop Seoul as a ¡°smart city,¡± a city that uses information and communication technology (ICT) to create more efficient infrastructure and services for the public. The workshop was divided into three sections: ships, cars, and drones. In each sessions, new ideas and innovations for each vehicle were brought forth and discussed.
A few highlights of the event include discussions about smart car and automization, marine cybersecurity, over-the-air (OTA) programming, which refers to wireless methods of information transportation, and more. Additionally, an anti-drone utilizing Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) was unveiled at the workshop. Anti-drones are used to detect and intercept other drones, and the one unveiled at the event has specifically been used for facility protection.
