From March 2 to 31, Korea University Center for Teaching and Learning E-learning support team holds contest for vitalization of Blackboard. Blackboardis a Learning Management System (LMS) which provides KU students with personalized information such as announcements, syllabus, assignments and scores. Until now, EKU has taken role of providing the services, but from 2015, Blackboard replaces in earnest its role. The main goal of the contest is therefore to vitalize the use of Blackboard by KU students.

The contest has two topics; One is the naming of Blackboard and the other is the essay writing about Blackboard, especially the one that reviews and gives further suggestion. According to E-learning team, Blackboard naming became one of the major topics of the contest to collect KU students’ own fresh ideas about the name of the new portal site they will use from now on. “Last time, when EKU is made, its name did not reflect students’ ideas at all, but has been determined by faculty members solely. This time, we are to hear students’ voices,” a member of E-learning team said.

Every KU students who are interested in can join the contest by sending an E-mail to eku@korea.ac.kr, file being attached. The result is to be announced on April 17 and for the winner from each topic of the contest, the prize and gift voucher are awarded.
