While a majority of donation programs deal with large sums of money, the KU PRIDE CLUB attempted a change at this stereotype about donations. With the establishment of this club in May, celebrating the university's 110th anniversary, KU decided to allow those most willing to help out the university to feel less pressured to do so.

The KU PRIDE CLUB consists of KU alumni, professors, parents, and ordinary people wishing to contribute to the development of the university. Currently there are approximately 2300 registered donator accounts, and the university is continuing its fund-raising activities with an aim of 11 thousand accounts in total. Min Nam-Kyu ('66, Agricultural Chemistry), the 1905th registered account owner claimed, "the fact that KU is my alma mater is enough motive for my donations."

Unlike former donation programs that were usually a one-time, grand event, the KU PRIDE CLUB allows donators to subscribe regularly by small amounts. Such a change to the original donation culture allows people to feel less burdened by the large sum of money that must be put in for donation.

Donations by the KU PRIDE CLUB will be used not only for the development of KU, but also for students in forms of various scholarships that students can apply and receive every semester. Also, anyone can register as a donator and contribute to building an improved future for KU.
