Commemorating Korea University¡¯s (KU) 110th anniversary, KU Museum holds the special exhibition Tiger Enjoys Art. Its opening ceremony was held on April 28, in which many prominent figures participated, including Yeom Jae-Ho, the 19th president of KU. Co-designed by KU Museum and CoA SPACE, this exhibition will be held until June 21 in the Special Exhibition Hall. Visitors will be able to see a total of 105 paintings by 51 different Korean painters.

The Korean name of this exhibition is Ho-Shi-Tam-Tam. As the literal meaning of it is to vigilantly await an opportunity like a tiger, the purpose of this exhibition is to shed new light on the artistic and historical value of this animal. Considering the fact that tiger is the symbol of KU as well as the anchor of the Koreans as a whole, this meaningful exhibition wishes to explore the significance of this valiant animal through the artistic spirits of the painters.

¡°Through the numerous works, we hope to show the Korean mind and the unique KU spirit in an objective way,¡± said Yeom. In fact, all of the artists that participated in this exhibition worked with the fundamental thought that, ¡°what is most Korean is what is global.¡± By pursuing the Korean mind, their works fuse the traditional subjects with the next generation Korean art, and thus bring up a new interpretation and direction for the artistic field.
