Korea Minting, Security Print & ID Card Operating Corporation (KOMSOCO) and Korea University (KU) Management of Technology (MOT) made an agreement in academic-industrial cooperation in the field of guidance technology development and management of technology on March 31, 11:30 P.M. The contract was arranged at the KU College of Engineering room 113, where Kim Hwa-Dong, the chief executive officer (CEO) of KOMSOCO, and Park Jin Woo, the representative of KUMOT, took place.

KOMSOCO mainly deals with production of elements used in money and securities such as card systems, ID systems, and security appliances, preventing forgery and falsification. To be ranked as the fifth in the world, the corporation is now striving to establish future-oriented business and to secure leading technique. As its partner, MOT is aiming to foster Chief Technology Officers (CTO) who can manage business flexibly in the future engineering environment. In addition, it also promotes to train professionals who can design new industries in the future who are named Chief Growth Officers (CGO).

Establishing the same objective, to foster future-growth industries and to invent new technical strategies, both organizations decided to join their path for further development. The agreement mainly focuses on mutual cooperation in the field of technical commercialization, technical strategy, technology management strategy, and technical finance. About the prospects of the contract, Kim stated, “I’m expecting this agreement to be an opportunity to create new growth engines for the future prosperity of the two.” KOMSCO and MOT likewise made a firm decision to take a step forward in achieving each goal through this consensus. They are looking forward onto the effect and consequence of their collaboration.
