Starting from April 1, recruitment for KU-China Global Leadership program begins. The program collaborates with the East China Normal University (ECNU) in Shanghai, and the Harbin Institute of Technology, providing students with the opportunity to learn English and become experts at China.

Participants first receive basic education on Chinese, then visit universities in China to learn Chinese, also engaging in culture experience and buddy programs with Chinese students. Students of all major can apply to this program, except for those who previously participated in the program or expect to graduate. Selection priorities are given to beginners of Chinese, and students who have never been to China.

After four weeks of special concentration lecture on Chinese during summer in Korea, participants enter programs at the ECNU in Shanghai. Programs at the Harbin Institute of Technology start during the winter program. Application is only for students who participated in the summer program. Kim Woo Jung (’14, International Studies) reflected her expectations toward the program. “This could be a precious chance for me to learn Chinese, which is an important foundation for students who prepare Chinese exchange programs like me,” she said.

Application and tuition fees are all provided by China Global Leadership Fund, and students only have to pay for summer classes in Korea and round-trip plane tickets to China. KU-China Global Leadership Program will be a good opportunity for those who want to enhance their Chinese skills and learn more about China.
