Korea University (KU) President Yeom Jae Ho has taken another step in revolutionizing the school under the slogan of ¡°Global KU 2.0¡± by founding East Asia-Nordic/Benelux University Consortium (ENUC). One of his previous reform measures is the highly controversial ¡°Three-no policy,¡± which partially abolished mandatory attendance, supervision during exams, and relative grading.

ENUC consists of 12 universities from around the globe, including five universities from East Asia and seven from Northern Europe. In fact, to commemorate the 111th anniversary of KU, the very first ENUC conference is scheduled to be held at Centennial Memorial SANSUNG Hall in Anam Campus from May 4th to 6th. Presidents and officials from these universities have come together to discuss the future of college and high school education.

¡°This consortium is an essential component of our educational reform in that it furthers our goal towards global education,¡± explained President Yeom. More specifically, ENUC is seen as an unprecedented case in which a Korean university has reached out to foreign universities in regions other than North America and Western Europe that are favored by most universities in Korea. Furthermore, KU aims to continue expanding its horizon to other regions, namely South America and Middle East, by opening up channels for more active communication and exchange of information.
