The meeting came to an end at 5:10 A.M. after enthusiastic debate among those who support the impeachment motion and those who do not. At least two thirds of the votes are needed to pass the motion. The Korea University Student Association (KUSA) has avoided impeachment as 23 delegates voted for the impeachment and 34 delegates against, while 9 votes abstained.

Lee Sang Hoon, who first made the impeachment motion, left the meeting half-way for personal reasons. After failing to make a proper argument against the KUSA defense, he admitted that he has ¡°failed to gather enough opinions from students who supported the impeachment.¡± Before leaving, he stated that there was an ¡°imbalance between those who support the impeachment and those who don¡¯t, and that the meeting should focus not on whether KUSA gets impeached in the end or not but on the legitimacy of the submitted motion.¡± The chair of the executive committee argued back that the ¡°legitimacy of the subjects causing controversy should also be taken account,¡± to which several delegates agreed on.

In the final hours of the discussion, the chair offered some time for the delegates to make a point that either supported or rebuked the motion. One of the visitors who supported the motion stated that ¡°impeachment is something which the meeting itself cannot decide,¡± and that ¡°KU students should be given some form of right to be a part of the voting.¡±

It was clear that most of the delegates did not support the motion. The president of the Education major claimed that the motion should be turned down since ¡°the motion is based on unverified facts which KUSA made it clear.¡± The presidents of the Electrical Engineering major and Korean Language Education major also agreed that ¡°it is wrong to impeach KUSA with the suggested reasons, although KUSA was at fault to some extent, which angered a lot of KU students.¡± They also commented that KUSA should ¡°work on communicating with KU students more effectively.¡±

There were voices of making the voting procedure done by making students turn in their ballots because some delegates thought that ¡°the opinions of the KU students should be reflected in some way¡±. According to the constitution, 4,000 students will have to participate, but this motion was not put into effect and the voting was complete by the representative delegates of their respective student bodies.
