The third temporary student representative meeting is taking place at the moment. Lee Sang Hun (’09 Earth and Environmental Science) has summarized the main reasons behind the impeachment motion based on some of the controversies caused by the Korea University Student Union (KUSA).

The motion mainly pointed out that; the KUSA failed to apologize or even do anything about the noise caused by the festival despite frustrations among students and residents, KUSA unrightfully hosted an event that was for a long time hosted by another student club, KUSA failed to communicate with students and reflect students’ opinions with the state of affairs declaration and the amendments to school laws, and did not inform the students with the school’s decision to reduce the size of the reading room located in the Central Library.

The president of the KUSA, Park Sehoon, and the chairman of the executive committee argued back by claiming that KUSA did formally apologize for any discomforts and frustrations KUSA caused and properly took actions by either delaying or cancelling the controversial events. They also claimed that to accuse the KUSA for misplaced diction while interviewing and controversial events that were taken into action was misguided. Also, other than the fact that they have directly collected opinions from students regarding the issue of school-law amendments and the current state declaration, they have indirectly reflected the student’s concerns by admitting whatever fault they have made and cancelling events that were considered faulty by the KU students.
