The ballot count of the 49th Korea University Student Union election has just begun. 6,823 students out of 19,745 eligible voters (35.03 percent) have voted over the last three days. The running candidates, Lee Seung Jun (¡¯11, Psychology) and Kim Bo Hyeok (¡¯14, Political Science and International Science), will need to receive votes from at least 20 percent of the entire eligible voters in order to win the election.

Voting Results

The Woodang Hall voting ballot will be the first ballot to be counted, and has confirmed that, out of the 170 students who voted at the Woodang Hall, 137 students voted for the running candidates. 16 students voted against and 17 students abstained.

In the Political Science and Economics Building, out of 191 students, 147 students voted yes, 24 students voted against, and 19 students abstained, with one undervote.

In the Students Union Building, 34 students voted for, five students voted against, six students abstained, out of 46 votes. There was one invalid vote.

At the Central Plaza, out of 176 votes, 129 students voted yes, 25 students voted no, 21 students abstained, and one student casted an undervote.

In the Hyundai Motor Business Hall, there were 31 votes in favor of the candidate, five votes in opposition, four blank ballots, among the total of 40 votes.

Out of 65 votes from the LG-POSCO Business Hall, 41 were for Eumjul, five were against, and 11 abstained. Surprisingly, eight invalid votes were counted from this district.

In the district of College of Law Annex, a overwhelming number of 53 votes were casted in Eumjul's favor, while only three votes were given to both opposition and abstinence.

From the College of Law Building, out of 73 votes, 52 voted yes, 12 voted no, and nine abstained. Currently, 12.02 percent of votes were counted so far, and a total of 9.15 percent voted in support for Eumjul.

221 votes were casted in the College of Liberal Arts Building, with 194, 18 and 7 votes for, against and abstaining respectively.

127 votes were casted in the International Studies Building, with 88, 21, 10 votes for, against, and abstaining respectively. 8 votes were rendered invalid.

78 votes were casted in the Media and Communication Building, with 44, 10, 21 votes for, against, and abstaining respectively. 4 votes were discarded for different reasons.

31 votes were casted in the college of Medicine Main Hall, with 15, 7, and 7 votes for, against, and abstaining respectively. 2 votes were rendered invalid.

50 votes were casted in the College of Nursing Woo Jung Hall, with 42, 3, and 4 votes for, against, and abstaining respectively. Although there has been a margin of error of 1 vote, according to the regulation, when the total casted votes are less than 100 votes, a margin of error of up to three votes will be acceptable.

157 votes were casted in the College of Life-Sciences Building. 122. 30. 15 votes for, against, and abstaining respectively.

96 votes were casted in the College of Science Building, with 64, 19, and 12 votes for, against, and abstaining respectively. 1 vote was rendered invalid.

In the Science Library, 128 votes were counted, consisting of 95 for, 15 against and 18 abstaining votes.

104 votes were taken into account in Hana Square, where 73 voted for, 16 voted against and 14 abstained from voting. There was 1 invalid vote.

From the College of Information and Communication Building, 45 votes were considered. 29, 10 and 6 votes were for, against and abstaining respectively.

39 votes were casted in the Innovation Hall, where 22 voted for, 10 voted against and 4 abstained from voting. There was 3 invalid votes.

In the International Center for Converging Technology, out of 43 votes, 25 voted for, 10 voted against and 8 abstained from voting.

From Hana Science Building, a total of 101 votes were cast. Out of the 37 votes cast in the first floor, 28 voted for, 3 voted against and 6 abstained from voting, while all 64 votes from the basement level were rendered invalid due to the lack of a seal on the ballot box.
