KU students, led by KUSA, have occupied the vicinity of room 201 in Inchon Memorial Hall. From 2:00 P.M. onward, the students closed off the entrance to the conference room where the General Affairs Committee Meeting was being held. For close to three hours, the members of the Committee Meeting refused the students' requests that they be allowed to enter the conference room and watch the meeting taking place. Faculty members used every means at their disposal to ward off the students, intially shoving students out of the conference room and later on attempting to coax them into leaving Inchon Memorial Hall.

During the stalemate, a number of faculty members were accused of hurling expletives at students and making several tactless proclamations such as "President Yeom is Korea University" and "President Yeom has the authority to do ratify the future college plans if he pleases". The dean of the Department of Engineering compared the meeting to the student assembly, and the head of student affairs claimed it the tradition of KU that once the meeting begins, it cannot be disrupted. Both criticized the students of disregarding a long held tradition. Despite the students' insistence that President Yeom directly communicate with them, the head of student affairs denied the students this opportunity.

When the head of student affairs proclaimed that the meeting would be put on hold to be reconvened at another time and attempted to exit the conference room, the students barricaded the entrances to the conference room in order to ensure that the meeting would be completely canceled, the future college plans discarded and the school faculty apologizes to the students for their insults and threats of punitive action.

The students are currently blocking the exits of the conference room, while the members of the Committee Meeting are mulling over the students' demands.

Update: The situation ended around 5:30 P.M. when the school faculty acquiesced to the students' wishes and canceled the meeting for good. However, many expect further altercations betweeen KU students and faculty to arise in the near future.
