Students are currently taking over the entrance of the Main Hall of Korea University (KU), demanding President Yeom Jae Ho to open himself and the building for conversation.
Ma Dong Hun, the Head of the Department of Media and Communication, spoke for President Yeom and advocates of the controversial Crimson College, stating that ¡°the voices of students have been adequately reflected,¡± and pleaded to the students ¡°to have faith in President Yeom.¡± However, when the crowd questioned the procedure of finalizing decisions, he replied that ¡°the formal procedures are not subject to change.¡±
The students are chanting in front of the main building and demanding President Yeom to open the door and show up. He has yet to show up at the moment.
UPDATE:
Meanwhile, Kang Sung Jin ('16, Division of Interdisciplinary Studies), who made access into the building, has been forced out of the building. He stated that he "made it into the Main Hall as one of the school personel went into the building and argued that, as a student of KU, had the right to be at the place." He also testified that approximately six people used violence to force Kang out of the building.
The head of the Department of Media and Communication, however, accused Kang of "abrasive language," and implied that he was "partially at fault for the violence."
