Building Completion Ceremony of New Main Engineering Hall. Provided by KU.

On November 23, Korea University (KU) hosted a building completion ceremony of the New Main Engineering Hall. The New Main Engineering Hall was constructed to symbolize “talented engineering students with warm hearts reaching out to the world.” By providing a space that will serve as new platforms of education, research, and experiments, KU College of Engineering hopes to achieve competence in the global society.  

Consisting of eight floors above ground and two floors underground, the New Engineering Hall features general lecture rooms, large lecture halls, laboratories, and seminar rooms. The new Hall was built by utilizing the Fast Track method of construction, which refers to the process of designing and building the construction simultaneously.

“I expect that the New Main Engineering Hall will actualize the hidden potentials and abilities of the KU College of Engineering,” said President Yeom Jae Ho at the ceremony. “Through the collaboration of future oriented industries like robots, Artificial Intelligence (AI), biomedical, cyber security, big data, and engineering, the construction will serve as an important event that marks the 100th anniversary of the KU College of Engineering,” he added.
