Around 6:00 P.M. on February 19, a student from the College of Political Science and Economics was apprehended while secretly filming another Korea University (KU) student without her consent. The offender was immediately escorted to a nearby police station, where the police proceeded to indict him without detention. The student association of the College of Political Science and International Relations and the Department of Economics are planning to take their own brand of disciplinary action against the accused.

The offender, who formerly held an important position in the student association of the College of Political Science and International Relations, was caught red-handed in the third exit of Anam Station, and has so far acquiesced to all punitive measures that the student association of the Department of Economics has imposed upon him. KU students are outraged at news of this incident, with campus wall posters fuming over the fact that the perpetrator was an outspoken advocate for the punishment of the offenders of last year’s KakaoTalk sexual harassment incident.

Much controversy has been stirred over the incident details that were leaked, which included the offender’s identity, before the student association of the College of Political Science and Economics issued an official statement. Although users of Koreapas emphasized their right to such information, the student association of the Department of Economics fears that the leak could leave open the possibility for the offender to press charges against KU for defamation. Meanwhile, the KU Student Association (KUSA) will determine which measures to take against student P in the upcoming Student Representative Meeting.
