The Central Steering Committee meeting has currently finished discussing the schemes regarding the constitution of the Central Voting Committee and taking action against amendments to school-laws. The committee concluded that, although the new Central Voting Committee was supposed to have been formed today, the constitution of the new Central Voting Committee will be delayed. The president of the College of Medicine stated that “the final decision will be made after the temporary student representative meeting.”

The committee also discussed how the student body will have to react to the suggested amendments to the school laws. According to the new amendment, respective student representatives and professors will have to approve group activities. The president of the College of Political Science and Economics revealed that “this is an action that suppresses the students and is now realistic, considering that no professors would volunteer to take responsibility to unexpected controversies that arise from group activities.”

The president of the Aeginueng Club Association revealed that the amendments will have little effect considering that “it is unrealistic that every group activities will be declared by students whenever there is a group activity.” The president of the College of Medicine also stated that “the current amendment shifts too much responsibility to the students while the school fails to provide students any kind of solution.”

Everybody agreed that “students of Korea University (KU) should be informed about this amendment and that representatives should spread awareness so that the students will be able to put pressure on the school to have the students’ opinions reflected.”
