On May 5, 2017, Korea University Student Association (KUSA) made all bylaws of student organizations within the university available online. The collection features the effective bylaws and regulations of KUSA, alongside the bylaws of the individual colleges. It will also include an overview of amendments made within three years of its compilation. This is the first time an online compilation has fulfilled all the requirements set forth by the Constitution and Bylaws of KUSA Article 177.

However, the compilation of bylaws is unavailable in languages other than Korean. Article 177, the article that the online compilation was created upon, states in its fourth clause that the compilation must provide its contents in a “computerized form to allow a member [of the student body] to have access to it at all times.” While Article 177 guarantees universal access, it fails to provide universal comprehension, despite the growing number of international students on the campus.

The good news is that a translation is in the works. According to KU official Kang MinHyeon (’14,Department of Architecture), “KUSA is currently planning to translate the bylaws to languages such as English and Chinese by October this year.” While still in its planning stage, KUSA has often expressed its goal of improving the learning conditions of foreign students during its meetings and orientations since January.
