Korea University (KU) Professor Lee Heon¡¯s research team (Material Science Engineering) has invented a fake-preventing technology by using nanoimprint. This technology involves exerting a laser through the surface of the film placed on the product in determining the authenticity of the product. This accomplishment was announced on April 28.
Recently, the fake industry has advanced so much that consumers find it hard to visually distinguish between fake and authentic products. Professor Lee¡¯s invention, the fake-prevention film, however, is very difficult to imitate. By using the refraction of light, the film is made to create a particular image that won¡¯t appear for fake products when a light passes through. The technology is also economical since the entire process only involves exerting a light through the pre-designed film.
KU stated that ¡°this technology can be utilized in various industrial fields such as electronics, currency, luxury, and so on.¡± Professor Lee also claimed that ¡°such technology will be well-suited for the upcoming generation.¡± As the technology is cost-efficient, it is suitable for mass production, which makes it applicable to various subjects and fields.
