안녕하세요, 고려대학교 총학생회입니다.

지난 11월 5일 디지털정보처의 졸업생 이메일 계정 삭제 정책 발표 이후, 총학생회는 즉각적으로 재학생 및 졸업생들의 의견을 수렴하여 적극적인 대응에 나섰습니다. 700명 이상의 구성원들께서 전달해 주신 소중한 의견을 바탕으로 학생처장님, 디지털정보처장님, 그리고 총장님과의 면담을 통해 개선 방안을 논의하였습니다.

디지털정보처는 구성원들의 의견을 반영하여 다음과 같이 새로운 개선안을 마련해주셨습니다:

1. 이메일 계정 유지
· @korea.ac.kr 계정 영구 사용 보장
· 네이버웍스에서 구글 워크스페이스로 서비스 전환
· 개인당 5GB 저장 용량 제공

2. 계정 관리 정책
· 1년 이상 미사용 시 휴면 계정 처리
· 휴면 상태 2년 경과 시 계정 삭제

3. 시행 일정
· 2025년 5월부터 새로운 정책 시행
· 구글 이메일 시스템으로 전환 예정
· 세부 전환 절차는 추후 안내 예정

본 정책은 서울대(5GB), 연세대(100MB), 성균관대(졸업 1년 후 삭제), KAIST(1GB) 등 타 대학과 비교했을 때 졸업생들의 권익을 최대한 보장하는 방향으로 설계되었습니다.

세부사항의 경우, 디지털정보처의 구체적인 전환 절차 안내에 따라 추가 공지하도록 하겠습니다.

마지막으로, 재학생과 졸업생들의 의견을 적극적으로 수렴하고 반영해 주신 디지털정보처와 학생처에 깊은 감사의 말씀을 전합니다.

Dear Students of Korea University,

Following the HQ's announcement on November 5th regarding alumni email accounts, the KU Student Union promptly gathered feedback from over 700 current students and alumni. Through meetings with the Office of Student Affairs, the Office of Digital Information Office, and the President, we have successfully advocated for policy improvements.

The Office of Digital Information has developed the following revised policy in response to community feedback:

1. Email Account Maintenance
· Permanent retention of @korea.ac.kr accounts
· Migration from Naverworks to Google Workspace
· 5GB storage allocation per user

2. Account Management Policy
· Accounts become dormant after one year of inactivity
· Deletion after two years in dormant status

3. Implementation Schedule
· New policy effective from May 2025
· Migration to Google email system
· Detailed transition procedures to be announced

This revised policy compares favorably with other institutions: Seoul National University (5GB), Yonsei University (100MB), Sungkyunkwan University (deletion after one year of graduation), and KAIST (1GB).

The Student Union will provide additional information following the HQ's detailed implementation announcement.
