On January 31st, 2023, the 5th biannual Liberty, Truth, Justice (LTJ) presentation contest finals were held in Korea University (KU). The contest was held as an extension of the Liberty, Truth, and Justice program, KU’s unique core general studies course obligatory for all freshmen.

The domestic category for the contest focused on the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) aspect of the domestic LTJ program, which revolves around identifying and devising a solution for core issues within KU’s campus and around Anam. The first-place award was given to Teot-bate Mwesim-jo, who presented a  collaborative, community-run urban farm to bridge the gap between KU students and non-KU residents and resolve the sense of divide and alienation that persists in society.

In room 331 of the SK Future Hall, the LTJ international category final presentations were held with 4 final qualifying teams. The awarded presentations featured “an analysis of character development through Korean popular media Sky Castle” and “a review of future innovation through works of industry leaders.”

The LTJ presentation contests showcased the creativity, problem-solving and analytical skills of KU students. Full video of all awarded presentations can be found on the official website of the Institute for General Education.
