Korea University (KU) held its student union presidential election from March 24 to March 26, with voting conducted both online and offline in places around campus. Over these three days, the final voting rate recorded 36.02 percent, exceeding the required rate of 33.33 percent needed for vote counting to proceed. On March 26, at the 4.18 Memorial Hall, the KU Central Election Commission (KUCEC) opened the ballot boxes and announced ¡°Bada¡± campaign as winner. With a total vote of 7233, 6790 (89.53 percent) in favor, 432 (5.70 percent) opposed, and 362 (4.77 percent) abstaining, KU Student Union (KUSU) will be led by President Lee Jungwon (¡®22, Department of Business Administration) and Vice President Han Jaemin (¡®19, College of Medicine).
Meanwhile, a moblie by-election was held simultaneously for the College of Business Administration, School of Art and Design, College of Liberal Arts, College of Education, School of Psychology, College of Science, and Division of Smart Security. This was to encourage student participation and meet the necessary voting rate for valid election results. Regarding the first implementation of the system, the head of KUCEC Yoo Hye Young (¡®23, School of Smart Mobility) said, ¡°With all independent colleges including the KUSU reaching the required vote rates, we consider it a successful implementation.¡±
