The 2023 Annual Cyber Ko-Yon Games were co-hosted and livestreamed by Korea University¡¯s (KU) Gaming Club "DELUXE," which took place on November 23 and 24 at WDG Studio in Chungmuro. Following the breathtaking victory of KU in the 2023 Ko-Yon Games after a harsh beginning, KU emerged victorious once more by a score of three to two in the Cyber Ko-Yon Games, cementing their dominance and intensity in the e-sports arena.
This year's offline Cyber Ko-Yon Games featured five different e-sports games: League of Legends (LoL), StarCraft, Overwatch 2, Teamfight Tactics (TFT), and VALORANT. On the first day of the competition, KU players started off with two consecutive losses in Overwatch 2 and StarCraft. However, KU rallied for a massive win in the next three matches, ending the game with a come-from-behind victory. The players for the final two games, VALORANT and LoL, were under high pressure to win for KU to claim victory overall, yet KU players managed a two-to-zero record win following a tight match between KU and YU. KU students expressed their joy at their stunning triumph in the offline Cyber Ko-Yon Games, displaying a high sense of school pride and an increased recognition of KU¡¯s e-sports evolution.
