At Korea University (KU) Seoul Campus, the by-election for the KU Student Union (KUSU) takes place. The election features a sole candidacy from the campaign headquarters “Bada”, led by presidential candidate Lee Jungwon (‘22, Department of Business Administration) and vice-presidential candidate Han Jaemin (‘19, College of Medicine). Running under the slogan “For the Future, Where Wishes Come True,” the candidates have made their main pledge to establish a new career department to strengthen career support. Their plans include a four-day career week featuring lectures, mentoring, and job fairs; along with semesterly relay career lectures bringing in multiple speakers. “Students are the ones who know the school best,” said Lee, vowing to lead a student council that will bring tangible changes. “We cherish everyone’s ocean, and cheer on each individual’s voyage,” stressed Han, pledging to ensure that all students grow on campus.
Since the KUSU presidential election was canceled in November 2024 due to the lack of candidates, the by-election voting will be held from March 24 to 26. If at least one-third of the student body participates by March 26, the vote count will proceed. Attention is now on whether the campaign headquarters “Bada” can open the ballot box and claim victory.
