On May 22, Korea University (KU) held the 2026 Public Service Job Fair for Disabled Students at SK Future Hall, in partnership with the Korea Employment Agency for Persons with Disabilities. The fair aimed to provide disabled students with practical information on public-sector jobs and guidance for career planning. Major public institutions, including the Ministry of Personnel Management, Korea Sports Promotion Foundation, Incheon International Airport Corporation, and Korea Marine Environment Management Corporation also participated. They offered recruitment consultations, talks with current employees, and explanations of employment support programs. More than 150 undergraduate and graduate students attended, gaining opportunities to explore career paths while receiving direct advice from institutional representatives.
In addition to career guidance, KU highlighted ongoing efforts to improve campus accessibility. The university announced facility upgrades based on surveys and accessibility checks from the Disabled Student Support Center, including tactile paving for visually impaired students, braille signage, accessible handrails, and labeled restrooms. Wheelchair-accessible seating, sign language interpretation, and text transcription services were provided during the event. President Kim Dong-One emphasized KU¡¯s commitment to creating an inclusive campus where all students can pursue education and careers without barriers. The university stressed that meaningful inclusion requires addressing both structural and informational obstacles, combining practical career support with improved physical accessibility to ensure equal opportunity for disabled students.
