On May 21, Korea University (KU) concluded its annual *Seoktap Daedongje* (The Granite Tower Festival), under the title and slogan “Kulimax: Our Brightest Moment.” It gained massive traction with one of the university’s most high-profile celebrity lineups in recent years. Popular K-pop groups and artists including Tomorrow X Together, BOYNEXTDOOR, fromis_9, ILLIT, LE SSERAFIM and KiiiKiii performed across the three-day event, surprising students with what many described as an outstanding lineup. Despite weather conditions, students began lining up from early morning to secure spots near the stage, demonstrating the festival’s popularity. Many attendees praised the scale of the performances, with one student commenting online that the festival “felt closer to a large-scale concert than a typical university festival because of the unexpectedly high-profile lineup.”

At the same time, the festival sparked varied reactions among students regarding performance arrangements and artist selection. While many praised the scale of the event and the energetic atmosphere created by the artists, others questioned the balance between mainstream idol groups and indie performers during the final day. Some students also expressed disappointment with the scheduling and stage order of certain performances. Nevertheless, many attendees agreed that Kulimax successfully captured the excitement of university festival culture and created memorable moments for students before the semester’s end.
