Korea University Business School (KUBS) has partnered with University of Southern California (USC) to host the Consortium on Digital Economy 2026 Conference on March 16-17th, on bringing together global scholars and experts to explore the future of artificial intelligence (AI) and the digital economy. Held in the LG-POSCO Business Hall, the conference serves as an interdisciplinary forum covering all business aspects. Research presentations addressed key issues such as AI advancement, digital platform competition, technological transformation, and regulatory challenges, reflecting the growing importance of AI across industries and societies.
The conference highlighted policy direction through a keynote speech by Im Moon-Young, Vice Chairman of the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy Committee, who emphasizes the need to build a national AI innovation ecosystem centered on data, talent, and infrastructure such as large-scale data centers and graphic processing units (GPUs). He outlined Korea’s three-stage strategy: establishing an AI ecosystem, driving nationwide AI transformation, and achieving global leadership, while stressing the importance of sovereign AI capabilities. The conference concluded with panel discussions on AI regulation and digital competition, reinforcing KU’s role in shaping global AI policy and innovation.
