Korea University (KU)’s annual Festival, Seoktap Daedongjae, is taking place from May 20 to 22 at the Central Plaza. This year’s theme, KUdyssey, was introduced with the slogan “An endless journey, sailing together.” Inspired by The Odyssey, the theme plays a pivotal role in the festival’s design concept. The legendary voyage symbolizes the pursuit of new horizons, mirroring the spirit of ambition and exploration of KU students. Furthermore, it represents the journey in which KU students and staff collaborate in active participation. Stained glass is another key design motif for the festival, an alluring artwork composed of a combination of various colorful fragments. This item depicts the beauty of unity and the value of overcoming disparity between one another, which leads to creating memorable experiences.

Celebrating the 120th anniversary of KU in May 2025, this year’s Daedongjae Festival is even more meaningful to students and faculties. It connotates further significance, not a mere annual festival; it is a commemoration of KU’s history and a time to wish for further growth in the future. In turn, 2025 Daedongjae will provide opportunities for students to comprehend and pursue the joy of university life and the value of the KU community.
