On April 23, the Office of Academic Affairs of Korea University (KU) announced to restrictively allow offline classes beginning from May 11. The announcement was made on the KU Portal to Information Depository (KUPID).

Due to the current coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, KU had previously announced to extend the compulsory period for online classes until May 2. The new announcement stated that offline classes at KU will be permitted beginning from May 11, under the condition that online versions of the offline courses are provided alongside. It was assured that students will not face any disadvantages based on their choice of class participation. In addition, classes with less than 30 students are allowed to run offline classes given a unanimous agreement from the students and a lecture hall that allows social distancing.

Furthermore, the school will undergo preventive measures against COVID-19 for three days before the commencement of offline classes. Meanwhile, it is still possible for courses to be continued exclusively online for the entire semester according to the decisions of each course¡¯s professor.

The announcement ended with a note asking for a compassionate and cooperative attitude from KU students.
