On April 9, a regular Student Representative Meeting was held in the 4.18 Memorial Hall, with 95 out of 104 representatives present by the opening. During the 19 hours of meeting, the student representatives dealt with a number of issues, including the approval of the Central Steering Committee, the establishment of the Human Rights Infringement Correspondence Rule, and the statement of accounts of student organizations.

Korea University Student Association (KUSA) paid much effort to pass stringent regulations regarding human rights violations, which was discarded twice in the last year’s meetings. There was also a lengthy discussion on setting the boundaries on who should be subject to policy, specifically on whether the penalties should be imposed when only the accused is a member of the student community. While Minority Human Rights Committee casted doubts on the articles related to false accusation and witness, the regulation has been eventually approved with a majority vote.

While most of the student organizations successfully passed the budget report, the College of Liberal Arts and the KU Women Students Association (KUWSA) had their budget rejected for failing to distinguishing the official bankbook from private uses. The remaining issues on the punishment of these organizations have been postponed to be addressed on April 16.
