By Choi Hyunbin (khyrst@korea.ac.kr), Kim Seung Hyun (shine950@korea.ac.kr)

Eumjul hosted the fourth session of Aulim, the student representative orientation, on January 25, 2017. The meeting started with an introduction of the Central Steering Committee and Korea University Student Association (KUSA) Eumjul, and emphasized the Committee¡¯s role in strengthening the connection between Eumjul and individual colleges. During the event, the Central Steering Committee announced its administrative divisions as well as its projects planned for 2017.

After the introduction, the representatives of each division of the Central Steering Committee took the stage and outlined the plans for the year. The divisions of the Central Steering Committee include the Education Division, Rights Solidarity Division, and Autonomous Exchange Division.  Their projects range from planned changes to school regulations, a Human Rights Awareness Week, and the 2017 Educations Rights Movement called Aureum.

According to the Central Steering Committee, Aureum was designed to promote a horizontal mode of discussion. It was arranged to facilitate dialogue between the university administration, college administration, student associations, and the students themselves. It aims to solve problems endemic to colleges, as well as overseeing the dialogue process in order to ensure the project is proceeding according to plan.

The event¡¯s organizer and Head of the Autonomous Exchange Division, Kang Min Hyun (¡¯14, Architecture), commented that today¡¯s meeting was ¡°designed to help representatives warm up to one another.¡± ¡°Each representative is given time to brainstorm about the topic at hand, be it building space, Korea University (KU) culture or school institutions, and are then allowed to discuss their thoughts with other representatives,¡± he added. He concluded by remarking that Aulim has ¡°yielded marvelous results¡±, and the project ¡°helped representatives come closer together¡± in preparation for the new school year.
