The 66th workshop hosted by Korea University (KU) Association for Research on Communication Studies was held on March 31, 2017 from 3:40 P.M. to 6:10 A.M. in the College of Liberal Arts building. This workshop is a monthly workshop held in KU. Regarding the fact that Artificial Intelligence (AI) issue has emerged as a significantly important issue in 2016, the monthly workshop’s topic is scheduled to be on the fourth round of the Industrial Revolution in 2017. March’s workshop was titled “The Fourth Industrial Wave: The Future of Human and Education.” Professor Yoon Bum Cheol (Physical Therapy) presided over the whole workshop.

Professor Yoo Hyuk (Computer Science and Engineering) came up and spoke about action and re-action towards the fourth Industrial wave. Professor Yoo elaborated his thoughts about how fast the fourth Industrial Wave is being progressed, the threats AI has brought, and how people should respond to the rapid change of Industry 4.0. Professor Yoo especially highlighted the necessity of convergence of education at the end of his speech. After Professor Yoo’s speech ended, Professor Yoo Seok Hoon (Linguistics) came to the front and led a discussion on the topic Professor Yoo spoke of.

Professor Hong Hoo Jo (Education) led the second part of today’s workshop. Professor Hong delivered a speech on the way the change of the school curriculum should be made in the Neo-animism times. Just like Professor Yoo, Professor Hong emphasized the importance of learning integrated subjects, which will enhance cooperative, creative, and problem-solving skills. Professor Kim Gyu Tae (Electrical Engineering) then gave his opinion on Professor Hong’s speech. The last part of the workshop was a free discussion on the overall workshop.
