On August 27, Lotte Members, announced the formation of a cooperation contract with Korea University (KU)’s Business School. A subsidiary of South Korean multinational corporation Lotte Group, Lotte Members is a platform business specialized in providing mobile payment services along with advertisement distribution, marketing, and membership services for its mother company.

The contract promised industry-university cooperation for the second “Business Analytics Capstone Project” between KU and Lotte Members, which will be held throughout the next six months. The main purpose of the project, akin to its predecessor in 2020, will be the discovery of the insight required in the field of data analysis in business, while simultaneously cultivating human resources needed for supporting such fields.

This year’s project is planned to focus on the importance of reviewing customer data to recommend appropriate products, and the development of prediction models suited to consumer expectations.

Lotte Members Data Strategy Division Head Jeong Ran-suk expressed how “Lotte Members appreciated the success of last year’s project in improving the data marketing strategy of the entire Lotte Group,” and that “Lotte Members expects another fruitful project this year, with almost twice the amount of personnel as last year.”
