1988년 7월 25일에 일본에서 발매된 아홉 번째 싱글 Seoul Seoul Seoul 3번 트랙으로, 서병후 작사, 조용필 작곡, 이리에 준(入江 純) 편곡의 곡입니다. 기자이자 음악평론가 서병후가 작사했습니다. 참고로 서병후는 가수 ‘타이거 JK’의 아버지입니다. 1절의 영어 가사는 한국을 홍보하는 내용으로, 가사로서의 의미는 없다고 생각합니다. 실제로 조용필이 방송에서 Seoul Seoul Seoul을 부를 때 종종 1절은 한국어로, 2절은 영어로 불렀는데, 2절의 영어 가사로 불렀습니다.
   일본에서만 발매된 Seoul Seoul Seoul 싱글은 한국어, 영어, 일본어로 녹음한 버전과 MR 버전을 수록하고 있으며, 미니 CD와 7인치 LP 2가지 형태로 발매되었습니다. 미니 CD에는 앞서 언급한 것처럼 4가지 버전이, 7인치 LP에는 한국어 버전과 일본어 버전이 수록되어 있습니다. 당해 싱글의 발매 계획은 1988년 2월 13일 자 매일경제 신문 기사를 통해 보도되었습니다. “톱가수 조용필이 88올림픽 노래 「서울 솔 서울」(Seoul Soul Seoul)을 한·미·일 3개국에서 3개국어로 동시 출반하는 한편 6월 말까지 무대 출연을 하지 않을 예정. 전옥숙 작사에 조용필 자작곡인「서울 솔 서울」은 지구 레코드사, 서독의 폴리그램사, 일본의 폴리스타가 참여하며 편곡과 녹음은 폴리스타사가 맡는다. 한국어 영어 일본어 3개 국어로 취입해 세계에 보급할 이 레코드는 4월 말 3개국에서 동시 출반되며 조용필은 5월 말까지는 라디오방송으로만 발표하고 6월 「서울 솔 서울」의 공연 무대를 가질 계획”
