고려대학교의 유일한 의회식 영어토론 학회, Korea University Debate Club (KUDC)에서 신입 회원을 모집합니다!

-KUDC는 매주 화요일과 목요일 저녁에 세션을 진행합니다. 세션에서는 정치, 법, 경제, 철학, 환경, 과학과 기술 등 다양한 주제에 대해 찬반 의회식 토론을 진행하며 서로 생각과 의견을 나눕니다. 목요일에는 세션 끝난 후 뒷풀이를 진행하여 부원 간의 친목을 도모합니다.

-다양한 사람을 만나고 싶나요? KUDC는 전국 대학생 영어토론 총연합 (Korea Intervarsity Debate Association, KIDA) 소속입니다! 국내외 영어토론 대회에 서울대, 연세대, 서강대, 성균관대, 이화여대, 중앙대, 경희대, 솔브릿지대 등 KIDA 소속의 타 대학과 함께 참가하여 매년 뛰어난 실력으로 다수의 대회에서 수상했습니다. 함께 영어토론 총연합에서 활동하는 타 대학의 다양한 사람과 교류할 기회가 많습니다!

-여행 좋아하시나요? KUDC에서는 국제대회에 참가하면서 자연스럽게 다양한 곳으로 여행을 떠나기도 합니다! 활동하면서 저희는 일본, 중국, 멕시코, 말레이시아, 대만, 네덜란드 등 전세계 각국으로 떠나기도 했으며, 3월 25일 일본으로 출국할 예정입니다.

-영어가 유창하지 않더라도 괜찮습니다! 기본적인 의사소통 능력만 된다면 토론하는 데에는 큰 문제 없으며, 유창성보다도 논리적 사고와 비판 능력이 더욱 중시됩니다. 영어에 자신 없는 학우들도 KUDC 활동을 통해 자신의 의견을 영어로 표현하는 훈련을 하면서 영어에 대한 자신감을 키울 수 있습니다.

-토론 경험이 많지 않아도 괜찮습니다! 토론을 처음 하는 학우들을 위해서 토론에 접근하는 방법과 토론에 자주 등장하는 주요 주제에 대한 렉쳐도 세션의 일부분입니다. 저희와 함께 토론을 처음부터 차근차근 배워 나가도 좋습니다.

Korea University Debate Club is recruiting new members!

KUDC is the only English debate in Korea University.

We have regular sessions every Tuesday and Thursday from 7:00pm to 10:00pm. Debate topics range from economics, politics, philosophy, media to technology, and international relations. The debate format is Asian parliamentary for the first semester and British parliamentary for the second semester. After Thursday sessions, we have a regular socializing event with dinner and drinks:)

Do you want to make new friends from various universities? KUDC is a part of the Korea Intervarsity Debate Association comprised of thirteen different universities such as Seoul National University and Yonsei University. You’ll be able to meet intelligent, insightful people during joint sessions and tournaments and make new friends.

Do you like traveling? We fly to various countries such as China, Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, Mexico and Netherlands to participate in debate tournaments and travel. KUDC members are planning to leave for Japan for an upcoming tournament on the 25th of March too!

High fluency in English is not a necessary prerequisite. Critical thinking abilities is a much more important skill set for debaters, and even if you are not 100% confident in English, debating is more than guaranteed to help you improve your English skills.

Debating experience is also not a prerequisite to join our club. We have practice sessions and informative lectures that teach new members step by step.

All Korea University students irregardless of their major or grade can apply, so don’t hesitate and join us now:)
