On November 27, a public hearing on ABLE, the 50th Korea University Student Association (KUSA) candidates, was held at the CJ Creative Library (CCL). Kim Tae Goo (¡¯12, Business School) and Hong Ji Soo (¡¯15, Health Policy and Management), running for the President and the Vice President position respectively, elaborated on their campaign pledges.

The candidates first had to answer inquiries from the school press. When asked about their plans to uphold education rights of students from overseas, Kim explained, ¡°We try to differentiate our plans from the previous efforts in that we attempt to deal with the struggles of foreign students admitted in March. For example, unlike those who entered KU in September, the students who entered in March have to enroll in the same Thinking and Writing class with native Korean students. We are going to demand more exclusive classes to be provided for foreigners and nationals from abroad.¡±

Notably, this year¡¯s public hearing introduced the pre-panel application system, in which panels could ask the candidates directly at the podium and debate with the candidates together. After intramural media inquired about ABLE¡¯s diverse promises on various school issues, such as dormitory and admission fee, the four selected KU student panels continued to question the qualifications of the candidates. Then, the audience had an opportunity to also take part in by asking questions in a written form.
