On September 18, Korea University College of Humanities’ Research and Education Project (KU CORE Project) organized a special lecture about “humanities-based convergence major,” as a part of the CORE Project of the second semester. KU CORE project invited Kim Hong Gyu, the Representative of NetmarbleNpark, to the Woo Dang Hall. He gave a speech about “How to still be confident in the future.”

Kim first proudly introduced himself and his company, by mentioning the famous games of NetmarbleNpark such as “Magu-magu.” While stating about the history of the company, he emphasized the importance about getting one’s desired job since this is the Homo Hundred era. According to him, this means people are likely to work longer as a life period.  Kim added that figuring out the need of one’s desired job is important, yet acknowledging the changed aspect of jobs in future is crucial.

Kim further discussed about the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and revealed that tedious works which require repetitive labor would soon be replaced with Artificial Intelligence (AI) or machines. “For our generation to survive and be successful, we need the qualities of adaptability, resiliency, flexibility, and most importantly, the mindset of continuous learning. People need to keep moving on to the changing environment yet they need to be able to simultaneously change their volatile circumstance, too.” The lecture ended with the question and answer (Q&A) session, making KU students reestablish their identity and corresponding future.
