On September 10 from 5:30 P.M. to 9:00 P.M., Korea University (KU) Cheerleaders held the Cheering Orientation session of Anam Campus at Hwajeong Tiger Dome, which was followed by the orientation held at Sejong Campus on September 8. The admittance started from 4:45 P.M. and approximately 1800 students took part in the ceremony.

This was the second time that KU students celebrated the Cheering Orientation this year. The initial orientation was held in March, to teach freshman students who had been unfamiliar with the cheer choreography of KU. Contrary to the prior orientation, however, a few different ceremonies were progressed this time. To begin with, the apportion of seats for each departments was not arranged this time, as the approximated number of students participating had been fewer than the number that Hwajeong Tiger Dome was capable of holding.

Adding on, a new song and choreography prior to the Annual Ko-Yon Games was announced, which heightened up many students. “The Cheering Orientation stimulated and excited even the sophomores, so much that I felt pain in my back and leg after the ceremony was wrapped up,” said Kim Yeseul (’14, Political Science and International Relations).

Tickets for basketball and ice hockey match during the Annual Ko-Yon Games were also distributed to some of the students who participated in the Cheering Orientation. The list of prizewinners was also posted on the Facebook page of KU Cheerleaders.
