[NEWS] A Session About Interdisciplinary Major in College of Liberal Arts Was Held

On September 24, College of Liberal Arts in Korea University (KU) held a session to provide students with information about its eight interdisciplinary majors: Science and Technology Studies, Humanities and Justice, Emerging Markets and Latin America (EML), Language, Brain & Computer (LB&C), Humanities and Creative Industry, Global Leader for East Asian Century (GLEAC), Medical Humanities, and Unification and International Peace. As KU students must select second majors before graduation, this session gave a broad introduction to each interdisciplinary major, which belongs to the College of Liberal Arts.

In the beginning of the session, Professor Lee Hyung-dae (Department of Korean Language and Literature), the dean of the College of Liberal Arts gave a speech about why interdisciplinary majors are important in current society. He said, ¡°I hope students become more creative and talented by gaining knowledges during their years at university.¡± After his speech, the host of this event briefly introduced programs in progress by the college, and head professors of each major took turns introducing their majors. The information included course objectives, curriculums and special programs of the majors including internships.

After the talk, question and answer (Q&A) session followed to help students¡¯ better understanding. For more information and inquiries, students can visit administration office of College of Liberal Arts or send an email to faculty members.
