On September 4, the Political Science and International Relations (PSIR) Department¡¯s 49th Mock Assembly was held at the Inchon Memorial Hall. Three sophomore assistant administrators and 26 freshman members presented the academic play on the topic of ¡°Development of Party Politics and Civil Initiative Constitutional Amendment.¡±

Park Se Won (¡¯15, PSIR), the President of PSIR Student Council, expressed in opening remarks, ¡°The 49th Regular Assembly of the Republic of Anam made various attempts. Not only reflecting the impeachment of Park Geun-hye and this year¡¯s rose-election, the play also tried to convey messages on how Korean politics should pave the way for reform.¡±

During the play, various satires were made on current Korean politics. The first part of the play critically depicted Korea¡¯s social and political situation of last year, such as the impeachment and the disharmonic nature of parties. The second part illustrated a more serious political scene, specifically focusing on the issue of constitutional amendment. With one-semester efforts of the actors, the assembly suggested unique solutions for the Korean politics in their own perspectives as university students.
