On March 11, the Campus Name Declaration Ceremony revealed the change in the name of the second campus of Korea University (KU) from Seochang Campus to Sejong Campus. Persons concerned in coining a new name for the campus explained that the purpose of this project is to enhance the brand image of the Sejong Campus. “With its former name based on geographic area, we decided that it would not be able to keep current with the fast growing atmosphere near the campus,” Choi Hang Mock, principal in charge of directing the new image, said. “On February 2007, a conference was held to strengthen the brand image of the campus. After public subscription from students, we decided on the name, Sejong Campus.” Though conflict with Sejong University has been aroused concerning the name, KU has no plan to relinquish it.
