On August 2, a press conference was held in front of the Seoul City Hall requesting the Mayor Park Won-soon, for a face-to-face talk on dormitory accommodation issues. Present in the press conference were the student association bodies from three different schools—Korea University (KU), Hanyang University (HYU), Kyung Hee University (KHU)—each struggling with its respective dormitory facilities.

KU and HYU have been making efforts to acquire permission for the construction of dormitories, while KHU has been unable to use its newly constructed dormitories because the construction license was deferred. Therefore, the student association bodies, including KU Student Association (KUSA), have been trying to have a talk with their corresponding Gu offices.

However, to unite these individual efforts and create a greater synergy effect, the three student association bodies have joined as a single movement and requested a conversation with the mayor of Seoul City in person. KUSA spoke out during the press conference that their efforts will not stop at the individual level, since the Moon Jae-in administration has declared that it will guarantee 50,000 students with their dormitories in the 100 Assignments of State Affairs.
