Korea University (KU) Business School is to host an online mentoring for high school students starting from May 2 for the duration of three weeks. KUBE will work with the academic application Study Helper to host the said mentoring session. The mentoring will take the form of Q&A sessions in which KUBE members will answer questions posted by high school students on the application’s college entrance bulletin board.

Study Helper is an application that provides a mobile mentoring space where students can seek academic help. It has ranked number one on the academic area as of April this year and boasts over 85000 downloads in Korea alone. In April, Study Helper has launched a community service where students can solicit advice and talk about their difficulties online.

KUBE consists of student ambassadors of KU Business School. Park Jin-wook (’12, Business), the President of KUBE said, “Taking from KU Business School’s educational ideology that puts emphasis on Business for Society, KUBE has been regularly hosting mentoring sessions so to lower teenagers’ dependency on private education.”

He added, “Unlike preceding sessions which were provided offline, I hope that more teenagers will be able to seek help for their studies and future plans through the online mentoring via Study Helper.” Similarly, KUBE has been hosting offline ‘Teenager Mentoring Day’ that targets high school students wishing to apply to KU Business School twice yearly. At every event, approximately 60 students are selected to attend.
