A train conductor is driving a train with 50 passengers on railroad tracks. He misses the last stop and crashes the train, killing everyone on the train but him. He gets sentenced to death by the electric chair, but gets offered a last meal first. He accepts, choosing just 1 banana. After eating his banana, he goes into the execution room and sits on the chair. He gets given the shock, but nothing happens. They give him the shock again, and again nothing happens. They let him go and he gets his train conductor license again. He has 60 passengers, and the same occurence as last time happens, and he gets the same sentence. Upon being asked what he'd like for his last meal, he chooses 2 bananas. He eats them then enters the room and sits on the chair. He gets given the lethal shock, but nothing happens. They try a few more times with the same result. They decide to let him go and he gets his train conductor license back. He has 70 passengers on board when he crashes and everyone but him dies. He gets given the same sentence but when he asks for 3 bananas as his last meal, they say "No, I think the bananas have been making you invulnerable to the chair" so he sits down on an empty stomach and when he survives multiple shocks again, they ask "How are you surviving? We didn't let you have any bananas!" and he replies "It's not the bananas. I'm just a bad conductor."

한 열차 차장(train conductor)이 50명의 승객을 싣고 철로를 달리고 있었습니다. 그는 마지막 역에 정차하지 못하고 충돌 사고를 내 승객 전원이 죽고 혼자만 살아남았습니다. 결국 전기의자형이 선고되었는데, 죽기 전에 마지막 식사를 할 기회가 주어졌습니다. 그는 바나나 1개를 먹겠다고 했고 다 먹은 후에 집행장으로 가서 전기의자에 앉았습니다. 그런데 전기충격을 가했는데도 아무 일도 일어나지 않았습니다. 계속해서 전기충격을 가해도 차장은 멀쩡했습니다. 결국 그는 석방되어 차장 면허를 다시 딸 수 있었습니다.
그 차장은 승객 60명이 탄 열차를 몰다가 이번에도 같은 사고를 내고 같은 형량을 받고 말았습니다. 이번에도 마지막 식사를 할 기회가 주어지자 그는 바나나 2개가 먹고 싶다고 했습니다. 그는 식사를 마치고 전기의자에 앉았습니다. 이번에도 전기충격을 여러 차례 가했지만 차장은 멀쩡했습니다. 결국 그는 또다시 석방되어 차장 면허를 돌려받았습니다.
이번에는 승객 70명이 탄 열차를 몰다가 똑같은 사고를 내고 똑같은 형량을 받아 마지막 식사로 바나나 3개를 먹겠다고 했습니다. 하지만 사형 집행인들은 바나나가 그를 전기의자에 면역으로 만드는 것 같다며 안된다고 말했습니다. 결국 그는 공복인 채로 전기의자에 앉았지만 이번에도 여러 차례의 전기충격에서 살아남았습니다.
사형 집행인이 물었습니다.
"당신 어떻게 살아있는거야? 바나나 안 먹였는데?"
차장이 답했습니다.
"바나나가 원인이 아닙니다. 제가 나쁜 차장(bad conductor = 부도체)일 뿐입니다."
